Larmer
Group Fitness Instructor
I am 23 years old (with 17 years of experience – or 40 if you require honesty 😉).
I have no children (that I know of … I would know right?) ... but one very cherished furry-butt-Labrador Murphy. And 2 nieces who rock my world and keep me young!
I have been with Results Fitness for just going on 10 years! Whoa. A friend from work convinced me to join her for a class – I had no intention of joining, to be honest, my track record with gyms wasn’t so great and I thought gyms just weren’t really for me… But I LOVED the community here – it’s def my happy place and just quietly I now think gyms are for everyone (me included)!
Results Fitness has been transformational for me. There is something amazing about being able to prioritise something just for you and refill your cup. I’m much happier, healthier and more driven. I’ve made so many friends, and connections and had so many fun experiences. From boot camps, and amazing races, to events.
I never dreamed I would become an instructor; in fact, I really wasn’t a “class girl” before coming to Results. You’d find me on a treadmill or lifting weights – but classes to me meant awkward awareness of coordination and gosh “people can see you”. However, one thing I love is seeing others grow and develop and that’s one thing as an instructor you get to see every week!
I have worked for the past 22 years for a charitable trust that supports, empowers, connects and celebrates adults with intellectual disabilities. My job title is Support and Development Leader – which allows me to work alongside people with disabilities and the community.
My first response, when asked what I am proud of, is my nieces and the really cool relationship we have! I love spending time with them and seeing their personalities develop! The other would have to be the long list of events I’ve been encouraged and supported to take part in - from swims, cycles, runs, and triathlons (I just have to note an Ironman).
I think there is something pretty magical and amazing about a community of women who celebrate, cheer on and encourage each other. While fitness and weight loss are included it’s not the only things, we focus on… some of my fondest memories are just seeing people grow and develop into my confidant and happier version of themselves.
Also just a heads up, I tell really bad jokes… if you laugh you will hear more… so tread carefully!
